Street Theatre returns to Guelph

They’re back. Now in it’s 8th year, JayWalking Guelph’s storytelling walking tours return.

The season begins Saturday May 31 and continues until Halloween.

Both tours enjoy enormous popularity. The Gwelf Early Days Tour is an excursion into Guelph’s past, bringing local stories to life through the reciting of local poetry, newspaper reports, journal and diary entries form the 19th century. The Unfortunate Man Tour is for those who like their storytelling to lean to the more dark and thrilling side. It’s a deep dive into a true tale of murder from 1889, complete with newspaper accounts, trial testimony and even William Harvey’s final words as his hanging is reenacted on the very spot where it occurred.

Groups of 4 or more can have a tour any day, any time. Great for parties and neighbourhood gatherings.

Jay is even offering 2 FREE chances this year. Keep an eye on the Guelph Public Library events page for details. Gwelf Early Days in July and The Unfortunate Man in August. These fill up quickly.

These “tours” are also available as multi-media indoor shows, complete with images and sound effects for an immersive theatre experience. Terrific for schools, service clubs, and social organizations.

Many say “I’ve heard about you and keep meaning to go on one of your walks”. Well 2025 is the year! Jay looks forward to being your guide and host.
