The Royal Theatre (87 Macdonell Street) was located across the street from the Palace Theatre (106 Macdonell Street - Demolished for Eaton Centre) in downtown Guelph. Opened around 1935, the 986-seat, single-screen theater was operated by Famous Players until 1958. Just got this print from an auction in Boston. It's from the 1874 Canadian Illustrated News. A bonus wasthe label on the back; it was framed in Guelph on Carden Street in the 1960's!
